We developed designs for a small single-storey side extension to a large Victorian semi-detached house in Shipley that created a garden room, growing space, gardening equipment store and cycle storage areas.
The project was integrated into the sloping rear garden through the introduction of a series of hard and soft landscaped terraces leading up from the house. Introducing wildlife-friendly habitats was an important component of the brief and we incorporated a sequence of ponds and water areas as part of the new garden arrangement. The extension was designed as a timber-framed structure with glazing to the growing space and a planted roof over storage areas.
